Cork Street – June 2007, Transformation” The Gallery, Cork Street, London

This was exhibition of works by Nick Kowalksi. Though it included works from many series – the main focus of the exhibition was the new series “Shards.” The aim of this exhibition was to exhibit works to a wider general art going public and form a contemporary context for the work within the creative industries. Blackpool Vistas – February 2007, “Post-ed” and “Carnivalesque” April 2008

These are exhibitions that all members of ORB Artists Studios have contributed to as part of the annual “Blackpool Vistas” Festival. This event is seen by ORB members as crucial to its ongoing aims of re-presenting “Blackpool” ( notions of place) through visual art, and widening audience participation within the locality. PAD Gallery, Preston – August-September 2007 “Fact or Fiction”

This one man exhibition by Nick Kowalski consisted of a selection of recent works including drawings which explored the notion of “fact.” Works included were “Lost” and “Being” series. See website page – Gallery –

Lancaster University – 2006 “Reading Spiritualities”

An exhibition of selected works by Nick Kowalski to accompany the “Reading Spiritualities Conference” held at Lancaster University. Selected works included “Ghosts” and “Refugee” series - See “Refugee” series and “Ghost” series (Gallery page) or website

UCLAN – 2002 – “Mark as Metaphor”

A series of Prints and Paintings by Nick Kowalski as part of the MA Degree Show in the Harris Gallery, Preston. These works explored “absence and presence” through the use of a particular mark.

Bottrop – December 2005 – January 2006 “Fabric or Faith”

This show by Nick Kowalski marked the 25 year anniversary of Blackpool’s twinning with Bottrop in West Germany. Nick Kowalski was invited to exhibit artwork in the hometown of Bottrop’s most famous son – the artist, Josef Albers. It covered a range of works to date and included artworks from many series. Alexandra Gallery – April 2007 – May 2007 – An Exhibition of Mixed Media Artworks by Nick Kowalski – Titled Trans:cedence

This exhibition was planned to coincide with a slightly later exhibition of works titled – Trans:formation which was held in Cork Street, London, June 2007. The newly created artworks were exhibited with contrasting audiences in mind namely academic St Martins Campus, Lancaster and the wider general art going public – Cork Street London. The works exhibited included the “splinter and “mirror mantelpiece” series.
